WE ARE FOSTERING HUMAN POTENTIALS AND ADVANCING SOCIO-ECONOMIC OPPORTUNITIES FOR THE YOUTH AND WOMEN IN EAST AFRICA.

Grassroots women, as ordinary people in our society, on whose behalf decisions are made, require that their needs and interests are considered in the policies, laws, plans and programs in order to attain the universal goals of gender equality and empowerment of women. Equally important, connecting grassroots women and young people to development entails ensuring that they are included in decision-making processes that affect their lives and that they are able to contribute to and hence benefit from development outcomes. Uganda is a low-income county and among the poorest countries in the world.

ABOUT US

OUR PHILOSOPHY

We believe that given opportunity, everyone has the potential to achieve extraordinary things in their lives and local communities. Fostering this human potential and promoting access to opportunities for young people and women is what motivates us and our work. We use evidence-based, market-driven, proven approaches to support those most in need: Youth and women advocating and working for socio-economic change, smallholder farmers feeding our people and regenerating our planet, and entrepreneurs launching and growing innovative businesses which solve day-to-day problems. We create inclusive and supportive social and economic ecosystems where all individuals and groups can work, thrive and live fulfilling lives.

WHY PARTNER WITH US?

We continuously learn and adapt.

We do not fear failure; rather, we reject stagnation in favor of agile experimentation. Each adaptation and new methodology we develop and apply in our work provides opportunity to learn using a collaborative, human-centered approach that continuously enhances our work outcomes. Our embrace of flexibility and creative risk-taking leads to more effective and relevant solutions for the local communities we of young people and women serve.

We practice meaningful engagement.

Power imbalances are significant tangible barriers to inclusion. Underpinning our work is respect for the individual and communities in which they live. We seek to understand, include, and create benefits for a diverse range of stakeholders through our programming. To do this effectively, we focus on the most vulnerable stakeholders and removing barriers to their meaningful participation, within our workforce and the communities we serve.

We are accountable and transparent.

We cannot create positive change without a foundation of trust and transparency. From our institutional policies to our corporate practices, we work ethically and honestly, lead by example, and hold ourselves to the highest levels of integrity and accountability standards. We only make promises we can keep, we use resources authorized for the right purpose, and honor our commitments to the local communities, development partners, our staff, and the Board.
